New Desk Edition of the Longprimer Sovereign, presented in a handmade French Navy Solander clamshell box. Limited to one per household.
This new edition of the KJV Longprimer Sovereign is bound in Black Highland Goatskin over hard boards with gold embossing and raised spine bands, with antiquarian style page edges in red with blue, gold and pearlescent speckles. Presented in a French navy blue cloth-covered clamshell box exclusively designed and handmade for R L Allan.
First printed in 1952, the King James Version Longprimer Bible is a sumptuous, traditional reference setting of the Authorized Version. Developed by Oxford University Press and now published exclusively by R. L. Allan, it has for many years been our flagship Bible, renowned the world over for its clarity of type and our beautiful bindings.
The Longprimer Sovereign edition retains the same clear type as the standard Longprimer but is printed on a 40gsm writable Bible paper with the highest levels of opacity, and increased margins (one inch on outside and bottom edges) to show the text block off to greatest effect and further enhance the reading experience.
Black Highland goatskin over boards with antiquarian style page edges, three navy blue ribbon markers, Allan Presentation Pages and Family Record, Dictionary of Proper Names, Subject Index, Concordance, 16 pages of Oxford Bible maps with index and 32 pages of feint ruled writing paper, and stamped 'First Edition'.
Presented in a handmade Solander clamshell presentation box covered in french navy cloth with ‘Allan 1863’ embossed logo and lined in contrasting red, made by hand exclusively for R.L. Allan. The Solander box was invented by Swedish botanist Daniel Solander during the late 1700s while working at the British Museum, and they were used by him when travelling with Captain James Cook on his voyage of discovery to Australia and New Zealand.
