This sumptuous dark grey highland goatskin LIMITED EDITION is the long-awaited fourth and final Bible in the Allan Royal Palaces series. Each copy comes with a Limited Edition print of a specially commissioned watercolour painting of the historic Tower of London painted by London-based artist John Walsom. The Tower of London was begun by William the Conqueror immediately after the Norman Conquest in 1066, the last successful invasion of Britain. The Tower has seen the lives – and deaths – of many of our most famous monarchs down the centuries and is one of the most popular tourist sites in London.

Bound in a rich dark grey highland goatskin, leather-lined in a glorious regal purple, this unique Bible also features purple under gold page edges, gold embossing on front and spine and double gold gilt lines inside, three blackberry purple ribbon markers, presentation pages and family record in Allan's design, dictionary of proper names, subject index, concordance, 32 pages of lined writing paper and 16 pages of Oxford Bible maps.

First printed in 1952, the King James Version Longprimer Bible is a sumptuous, traditional reference setting of the Authorized Version. Developed by Oxford University Press and now published exclusively by R. L. Allan, it has for many years been our flagship Bible, renowned the world over for its clarity of type and our beautiful bindings.

The Longprimer Sovereign edition retains the same clear type as the standard Longprimer but is printed on a 40gsm writable Bible paper with the highest levels of opacity, and increased margins (one inch on outside and bottom edges) to show the text block off to greatest effect and further enhance the reading experience.
